LocalTools is built from the gaps people actually hit. Describe the tool you are missing, back the ideas you would use, and watch them move from review to a working page.

When an idea is built, the name you chose is shown next to the finished tool as its suggester.

Tell us what you need. No account, no sign-up — one form and you are done.

Shown publicly with a short random suffix, e.g. Kevin #7Q3P. Use any name you like.

Only used to tell you when your idea is accepted or the tool goes live. Never shown publicly, never used for marketing.

A concrete example helps more than a feature list.

Your text is kept as written. Other visitors read a translated version and can always open the original.

No registration is needed. Your anonymous identity is stored on this device only, so clearing cookies and site data — or switching to another device or browser — may leave you unable to edit or withdraw your idea.

Tool inputs are never sent anywhere. Only what you type into this form is submitted.

How it works

  1. 1. Describe what you need

    Write the task in your own language. Say what you have, what you want back, and why existing tools do not fit.

  2. 2. The community backs it

    Approved ideas appear on the board. Support counts show which tools people are waiting for, so the useful ones rise.

  3. 3. We build it and credit you

    Once an idea is accepted it moves into development, and the finished tool page names the person who suggested it.

Questions about tool ideas

Do I need an account to suggest a tool?
No. There is no sign-up and no password. You pick a display name, write the idea and submit it. An anonymous identifier is kept on your own device so the site can recognise your own submissions.
Can I edit or delete my idea later?
Only from the same browser on the same device, because that is where your anonymous identity is stored. If you clear cookies and site data, or move to another device, you may no longer be able to edit or withdraw the idea.
Why do you ask for an email address?
It is optional. If you leave one, it is used only to tell you that your idea was accepted or that the tool is live. It is never shown on the site and never used for marketing.
Which ideas appear on the public board?
Every idea that passes review, whatever its status. Ideas under review, accepted ideas, ideas in development and finished tools all stay visible, so you can see the whole queue rather than only the winners.
Can I write in my own language?
Yes. Write in whichever language you are comfortable with. The board shows a translated version to other visitors and marks it as a translation, and the original text stays available behind View original.
What happens when my idea is built?
The tool gets its own page like every other LocalTools tool, runs entirely in the browser, and credits the display name you chose as the person who suggested it.
