Image Compressor
Shrink JPG, PNG and WebP images without uploading them
Reduce image file size by lowering quality and limiting maximum width. The picture is decoded and re-encoded by your own browser.

What this tool does
Large photographs slow pages down and fill inboxes. Reducing the pixel width usually saves far more than quality alone, so set a sensible maximum width first and then lower the quality until the preview size looks right. The output is a JPEG.
How to use it
- Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP image from your device.
- Adjust the quality and maximum width sliders.
- Press Compress again if you change the settings, then download the result.
Privacy
This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your input is never uploaded, stored or shared — closing the tab removes it.
Frequently asked questions
- Is my photo uploaded?
- No. The file is read straight from your device, drawn onto a canvas and re-encoded in the page. It never reaches a server.
- Why is the output a JPEG?
- JPEG gives the best size reduction for photographs. Note that transparency in PNG or WebP sources is not preserved.
