Focus session 1 of 4
The timer reads your device's own clock, so it stays accurate in a background tab. Nothing about your sessions is stored or sent anywhere.

What this tool does
The Pomodoro technique alternates focused work sessions with short breaks, taking a longer break after a set number of sessions, to keep concentration high over a long stretch of work. This timer tracks the current phase and session count, reads elapsed time from your device's own clock so it stays accurate in a background tab, and plays a short tone through the Web Audio API when a phase ends.
How to use it
- Set your focus, short break and long break minutes, and how many focus sessions happen before a long break.
- Press Start to begin the current phase; it automatically moves to the next phase when the time runs out.
- Press Skip to move on early, or Pause and Resume to stop and continue without losing the time left.
Privacy
This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your input is never uploaded, stored or shared — closing the tab removes it.
Frequently asked questions
- Does it automatically switch between focus and break?
- Yes. When a phase reaches zero it plays a tone and moves to the next one: focus into a short break, and into a long break after the number of sessions you set.
- Can I change the timer lengths?
- Yes, before starting a session. Set focus, short break and long break minutes, and how many focus sessions happen before a long break, then press Start.
- Is my session history saved anywhere?
- No. The session and cycle count exist only in the page and reset when you leave or reload it.
