- What waste percentage should I use?
- 10% suits a simple rectangular room. Rooms with many corners, angled walls or a diagonal plank layout often need 15% or more.
- Where do I find the box coverage?
- Flooring packaging states the area one box covers, such as '2.2 sqm per box' or '24 sq ft per box'. Use that same unit for the room length and width.
- Does this work for laminate, vinyl and hardwood?
- Yes, the calculation only depends on room area and box coverage, so it applies to any flooring sold in fixed-coverage boxes.
