What this tool does

This tool builds a brand-new PDF out of the pages you list from an existing one, instead of editing the original. Pages come out in the order you type them, so entering 5,1-3 produces a four-page file starting with the original page 5, and a page number can be repeated if you want it to appear more than once. It is the tool for pulling a chapter, a signed page or an appendix out of a larger document without sending the file anywhere.

How to use it

  1. Choose a PDF file; its page count appears once it loads.
  2. Enter the pages to keep, such as 1,3-5,8, one comma-separated list of numbers and ranges.
  3. Press Extract pages and download the new PDF.

This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your input is never uploaded, stored or shared — closing the tab removes it.

Frequently asked questions

Does this change my original file?
No. The original PDF is only read in your browser; the extracted pages are assembled into a separate new PDF you download.
Can I change the order pages come out in?
Yes. Pages are extracted in the order you list them, not in their original order, so 3,1 produces page 3 followed by page 1.
What happens if I enter a page number that does not exist?
Nothing is generated. Every number or range must be between 1 and the file's page count, or the tool asks you to correct it before it will build a file.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs with pdf-lib in your browser tab; nothing is sent to a server.
