What this tool does
Print size is a pixel dimension divided by the chosen print resolution (dots per inch). A higher DPI packs more pixels into each inch of paper, producing a smaller but sharper print from the same image.

- What DPI should I use for printing photos?
- 300 DPI is the standard target for sharp photo prints viewed up close. Large posters and banners viewed from a distance can use a lower DPI, such as 150 or 100.
- Why does a higher DPI give a smaller print size?
- DPI sets how many pixels are packed into each inch of paper, so the same pixel dimensions cover fewer inches — but more sharply — at a higher DPI.
