Stopwatch
Start, pause and lap a stopwatch in your browser
Time an activity with a browser-based stopwatch: start, pause, resume, reset, record laps, and copy or download the lap log.
Elapsed time
No laps recorded yet.
The stopwatch runs entirely in your browser. Closing or reloading the tab clears it.
Everything on this page is processed in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
What this tool does
The stopwatch measures elapsed time from your device's own clock, so it keeps counting accurately even if the tab is in the background. Pressing Lap records a split, and the log — split and total time for every lap — can be copied or downloaded as a text file. Nothing about the session is stored once you leave the page.
How to use it
- Press Start to begin timing.
- Press Lap at any point to record a split without stopping the clock.
- Press Pause to stop, then Resume to continue from the same elapsed time.
- Press Reset to clear the elapsed time and the lap log.
Privacy
This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your input is never uploaded, stored or shared — closing the tab removes it.
Frequently asked questions
- Does the stopwatch keep running if I switch tabs?
- Yes. It reads elapsed time from timestamps rather than counting steps, so switching tabs or briefly minimizing the browser does not lose time.
- What does a lap record?
- Each lap records the split — the time since the previous lap — and the total elapsed time at that moment, listed from most recent to first.
- Is the lap log saved anywhere?
- No. It exists only in the page. Use the copy button or the download link to save it yourself before you leave or reset.
