What this tool does
PDF document metadata is separate from the visible page content: it is the title, author, subject, keywords, producer and creator fields a file manager or PDF reader can display in a properties panel, and it can quietly reveal a document's author, source software or internal project name. This tool reads those fields from the file you choose, lets you edit or clear each one, and writes the result to a new PDF, entirely in your browser.
How to use it
- Choose a PDF file to see its current metadata fields.
- Edit the fields you want to change, or press Clear all fields to remove them.
- Press Save changes and download the updated PDF.
Privacy
This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your input is never uploaded, stored or shared — closing the tab removes it.
Frequently asked questions
- Does this remove metadata too, or only show it?
- Both. Edit a field to change it, or clear all fields and save to strip the title, author, subject, keywords, producer and creator from the file.
- Does this remove the page content or images inside the PDF?
- No. Only the document metadata fields change; the pages themselves are untouched.
- Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
- No. The file is read and rewritten in your browser tab; nothing is sent to a server.
