What this tool does

Subtitle files are just timestamped text, but the two common formats, SRT and WebVTT, differ in header, timestamp separator and a few optional fields. This tool parses either one into an editable list of cues, so you can fix a typo, nudge a single cue's timing, or shift the whole file forward or back by a fixed number of seconds when the subtitles have drifted out of sync with the video. The result can be exported as SRT or VTT regardless of which format you started from.

How to use it

  1. Paste subtitle text or upload an .srt or .vtt file.
  2. Edit any cue's start time, end time or text directly in the table.
  3. Enter a number of seconds and apply it to shift every timestamp at once.
  4. Pick SRT or VTT as the output format and download the result.

Is my subtitle file uploaded anywhere?
No. Parsing, editing and conversion all happen in your browser; the file is never sent to a server.
Can it fix subtitles that are out of sync with the video?
If the drift is a constant offset, yes — enter the offset in seconds (negative to move earlier) and apply it to shift every cue at once.
Does it support both SRT and VTT?
Yes. It detects which format you pasted or uploaded and can export as either one, so you can convert between them.
