What this tool does
This local barcode scanner reads product, inventory and label codes from a photo or screenshot. It uses your browser's native BarcodeDetector when available, so the image is decoded on the device instead of being uploaded to a server. Choose common formats for retail codes, linear formats for labels, or all formats when you are not sure which barcode type is present.
How to use it

- Copy each decoded value from the results table.
Privacy
This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your input is never uploaded, stored or shared — closing the tab removes it.

- Is my barcode image uploaded?
- No. Detection runs in your browser with the native scanner API and the file is not sent to LocalTools.
- Which browsers support scanning?
- Current Chromium-based browsers such as Chrome, Edge and Android Chrome support the BarcodeDetector API best.
- Can it scan multiple codes in one image?
- Yes. If the browser detects more than one supported barcode, each value appears in the results table.
