What this tool does
The watermark is drawn directly onto an in-memory canvas after the source image, using the browser's Canvas API text rendering. The nine position options anchor the text to a corner, edge or the center, with the padding controlling its distance from the nearest edge; opacity is applied only to the watermark layer, so the underlying photo stays fully visible beneath it. JPEG output fills transparent areas with white first since JPEG has no alpha channel.

Frequently asked questions
- Is the image uploaded anywhere?
- No. It is decoded and the watermark is drawn on a canvas in your browser tab; nothing is sent to a server.
- Can I make the watermark harder to remove?
- This tool draws plain text at a chosen opacity, which is enough to mark ownership or a draft status but is not a tamper-proof or steganographic watermark.
- Why does my watermark look faded?
- That's the opacity setting. Lower values make the watermark blend more with the photo underneath; raise it for a bolder, more visible mark.
