What this tool does
This tool draws your image onto a larger canvas at the scale factor you choose, using the browser's built-in image smoothing when you want soft, interpolated edges, or with smoothing turned off for a sharp, blocky enlargement that keeps original pixel edges visible. It is useful for quickly enlarging a small image for a mockup, print size check, or display, but it does not invent new detail the way a machine-learning upscaler would. Guardrails cap the output resolution so very large scale factors on large source images do not exhaust your browser's memory.

Frequently asked questions
- Does this use AI to add detail?
- No. It resizes the image with the browser's Canvas scaling, either smoothed or sharp. It does not run a machine-learning model and cannot invent detail that was not in the original image.
- Why does a large upscale look soft or blocky?
- Smooth mode interpolates between existing pixels, which can look soft at a high scale factor. Sharp mode keeps hard pixel edges instead, which can look blocky. Neither mode adds real detail — that is a limit of pixel scaling, not a bug.
- Is there a size limit?
- Yes. The tool caps the output's total pixel count to keep the browser responsive and avoid running out of memory. Very large source images or high scale factors may need a smaller scale factor.
