What this tool does
Turning a plain list of values into quoted, comma-ready SQL literals, Markdown bullets, or a batch of shell commands is the same repetitive edit every time: wrap or unwrap each line the same way. This tool applies a prefix and a suffix to every non-blank line at once, or, in Remove mode, strips a matching prefix and suffix back off, with an option to skip blank lines or trim each line first.
How to use it
- Paste one item per line, or load the example.
- Enter the prefix and suffix text to add, or to remove.
- Switch between Add and Remove, then copy the result.
Privacy
This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your input is never uploaded, stored or shared — closing the tab removes it.
Frequently asked questions
- Is my text uploaded anywhere?
- No. The transformation happens in JavaScript running in the page, so nothing you paste ever leaves your device.
- Can I build a SQL IN list with this?
- Yes, set the prefix to a quote and the suffix to a quote and comma, then join the result on one line, or add a trailing comma per line and remove the last one.
- What does Skip blank lines do?
- It leaves empty lines untouched instead of wrapping them, so spacing in the original text is preserved.
